FIA - Frozen In Action

I am sitting on two books I have written and feeling completely frozen, unsure what to do next. The first one is an account of Emily's time in the hospital and the miracle that saved her life. I have blogged about this story a few times, but the full version is pages and pages long. I need to go through it, edit it, and make it something people can actually read and find interesting. Right now, it leans a little too much toward a scientific expedition.
The second book I wrote is called something along the lines of Help: I Married a Follower. It explores the leadership differences when a woman who is naturally bold in leadership marries someone who is quieter and less assertive. I look at life through that lens and highlight the subtle ways people who are not loud leaders still lead.
When I start thinking about publishing, I get overwhelmed. I read about marketing strategies, launches, pre-orders, and all the logistics, and then I just freeze. It feels like too much for the moment.
Honestly, both books just need editing. A little polishing here and there, a cup of coffee, and some focus. I know we will get there, probably sooner than I think. Or maybe they will just sit on my computer until my kids find them years from now and decide to publish them because I never got around to it.
Writing is something I love to do. I am not a perfect writer, but I enjoy it, and it gives me a creative outlet when I otherwise do not have one. For now, that is enough. I will keep going, one step at a time, and eventually these stories will see the light of day.

Life in our house is loud, messy and full of literally everything. Love, noise, laundry, laughter, and definitely could use a bit more grace. I'm happily married to my best friend, grounded in my Catholic faith, and fueled by five to six hours of sleep per night and adrenaline.
I try to find joy in the everyday — even when it's wild, because without the little bit of joy, this life would be unbearable. This space is for the moms in the middle of it all: the ones juggling family, faith, work, and wonder. The ones that need someone else's messy life to make their own seem better or somewhat normal. You're not alone, and you're doing better than you think.
Welcome to Six Sweet Smiles — where we celebrate the mess, the miracles, and everything in between.
